After opening the year with his synth-heavy EP Three Dragons In Synth Form, Jas Artchild returns with his “synth-ly'' personal album Kaleidoscope Eyes releasing on Selville Records this September.

Selville has a knack for exposing virtuosic, experimental electronic music. Jas Artchild—A Hammanskraalian Deep Technician with a knack for synths—is a familiar member of our family. Jas Artchild is set to showcase his debut album Kaleidoscope Eyes, a testament to a visionary artist who is quickly coming into his own and honing his craft and signature sound.

Made up of eight tracks spanning 48 minutes, Kaleidoscope Eyes feels like it could have been recorded in some space shuttle somewhere in the galaxy. The record is heavy on sounds he played himself, from drums and synths that twists and turns to form immaculate melodies that massage your ear drums. With no features, Jas takes us through his world of sound design.

“Kaleidoscope Eyes is in all aspects different from what an industry standard of house music should sound like, there’s an industry standard of what house music should sound like and there’s what I make which was a deliberate decision. Everything in this album is made from scratch. No references, no sampling, just pure sound design. I tried my best to take out what I hear in my head and paint it on this silent canvas” he says.
